The chiropractic adjustment is a treatment specifically designed to correct skeletal subluxations. A subluxation is a joint dysfunction that is less than a dislocation, but often incorporates several components such as joint position, tissue swelling, muscle involvement, neurology, and may also involve tissue pathology.
The grand idea behind chiropractic may be summed up by saying that the nervous system controls everything in the body and that spinal adjustments align the spine and have some affect on the nervous system. Therefore chiropractic adjustments stimulate the body to function at it's highest level.
